As an ISCC-approved certification body, we offer ISCC PLUS certification, a voluntary scheme designed to certify the sustainability of alternative raw materials in non-regulated markets, focused on circular economy and/or bio-based products. It is applicable to food products, feed, plastics and chemical materials, packaging, textiles, renewable fuels, and other markets that require sustainability credentials in voluntary markets.
What materials does ISCC PLUS cover?
- Bio-based: Sustainably sourced biological raw materials (e.g., crops, cereals, oilseeds, forest biomass, etc.).
- Circular: Raw materials derived from material recycling (e.g., recycled plastics (mechanically or chemically), recycled textiles, recycled tires, and other fossil-based residues reused in new value chains).
- Bio-circular: Biogenic residues that are recovered and reintroduced into production processes (e.g., agricultural and forestry organic residues, used cooking oil, among others).
- Renewable: Raw materials obtained from non-biological renewable energy sources (e.g., green hydrogen, non-fossil fuels and chemical products, Power-to-X products, among others).
You can check the official ISCC website for the list of permitted raw materials under the PLUS scheme: https://www.iscc-system.org/certification/iscc-documents/iscc-material-lists/
Benefits of certification
- Flexibility: includes voluntary add-ons to adapt to specific market or product requirements, such as Non-GMO, GHG emission, consumables, SAI Gold, and FSS.
- Traceability and chain of custody: ISCC PLUS offers different methods to track the flow of alternative raw materials in the supply chain, such as physical segregation, mass balance, and controlled blending.
