ISO 56001 sets out the requirements for implementing, maintaining, and improving an Innovation Management System (IMS). It applies to any type of organization, regardless of size, sector, or the products and services it offers. The standard proposes a systematic approach that allows companies to turn innovation into a repeatable process aligned with their strategy, rather than leaving it to chance or isolated efforts.

Like other management system standards (such as ISO 9001 or ISO 14001), ISO 56001 follows the High Level Structure (Annex SL), which makes it easier to integrate with other systems already in place in the organization.

What is the validity period of the ISO 56001 certificate?

The ISO 56001 certificate is valid for three years. At the end of the cycle, a recertification audit is performed to renew the certificate for another three-year period.
